WELLSVILLE — Law enforcement reports one person was killed and others were injured in a multiple vehicle crash Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. at 3700 S. US-89/91, near the American West Heritage Center.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person sustained critical injuries and was transported by paramedics to Logan Regional Hospital. Others reportedly had minor injuries.
The identities of the deceased individual was not released, pending notification of family.
Roden said troopers believe the crash involved six or seven vehicles. The cause of the crash is still being determined.
Multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency crews were dispatched to the crash to investigate and clear the wreckage.
Roden explained that a section of US-89/91 around the crash site will remain closed for two-three hours.
Motorists are advised to use SR-23 through Mendon or SR-165 through Hyrum as alternate routes.
