October 6, 1939 ~ March 20, 2023 (age 83)
Emma Lou Hubbard, 83, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. She was born to Ralph Frances Komer and Doris Swainston Komer on October 6, 1939, in Preston, Idaho. She grew up in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School in 1957.
Lou married Norris Joseph Hubbard in the Ogden LDS Temple on October 30, 1959. They were married for 63 wonderful years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served faithfully. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Willard Ladies Pinochle Club for more than 30 years. Lou worked at the Internal Revenue Service for more than 25 years before her retirement.
She and her husband, Norris, built their life together in Willard, Utah on the family farm and they were never apart. She passed away soon after his death. She was very dedicated to her family, and served countless hours taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved entertaining them with fun activities, presents, and crafts. She was famous for her annual easter egg hunt. She was the best grandmother, ever. She enjoyed sewing and crafting with her sister, Suzie, and they could often be seen traversing the state searching for the perfect quilt fabrics. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Joseph Hubbard.
She is survived by her children: Laurie Braegger (Neil), Jill Bowman (David), Julie Simmons (Steve), Kimberly Hubbard and Brett Hubbard (LaDawn), 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City.
Viewing at the mortuary will be from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, Funeral at 2:00 pm at the mortuary followed by Interment at Willard Cemetery.
