ELWOOD, Utah — A driver was airlifted to a trauma center after being ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash Saturday on Interstate 15 near Elwood, authorities said.
The Tremonton Fire Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the crash shortly before 4 p.m. in the northbound lanes near mile marker 376.
Arriving crews found a heavily damaged vehicle and several patients involved in the crash. Bystanders were rendering aid to the driver, who had been ejected from the vehicle, before paramedics assumed care.
Emergency personnel transported the driver to a local helipad, where a medical helicopter then airlifted the patient to a regional trauma center. The current condition of the driver and the severity of injuries to the other patients were not immediately released.
No other vehicles were reportedly involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
