BOX ELDER COUNTY — Law enforcement and emergency crews were called to an explosion at a Northrop Grumman facility early Wednesday morning. The blast was reported around 7:35 a.m.

A press release from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office said initial reports indicate that there were no injuries or fatalities. However, as with all ongoing investigations, details may change.

Photos of the blast showed the walls and roof of a two-story building completely blown away. A small fire was also still burning, producing a plume of smoke.

The sheriff’s office said emergency services were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation.  

Deputies asked the public to avoid the area.

There was no further information provided.
