LOGAN – Dan Johnson was recently appointed as the Interim Executive Director of Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection (CRIC). Johnson has demonstrated his ability to be a dedicated educator and servant of the community.
Former state legislator and education administrator was recently named interim executive director of Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection.
Danny Beus, the former CRIC executive director left to pursue other non-profit administrative duties elsewhere.
Johnson brings with him over 25 years in senior leadership roles within the Utah K-12 public education system and received local, state, and national recognition for his work there.
He served six years in the Utah House of Representatives and received both the Utah Legislator of the Year and Utah Association of Counties Rural Legislator of the Year awards.
Most recently, he has been working with CRIC in schools to ensure children of recent immigrants have the support they need to be successful in their academic development.
“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve as Interim Executive Director with the Board of Trustees and dedicated staff at CRIC,” he said.
The CRIC board of trustees is confident that Dan’s leadership and commitment to supporting the community will help navigate these challenges times ahead.
There are so many individuals in our community who come here to are diligently working to achieve the American Dream.
CRIC has supported recent immigrants as they assimilate into the Cache Valley community and become independent and economically self-sufficient for the past decade.
Since 2022, it has assisted in resettling refugees approved for resettlement by the federal government and supported by the U.S. Department of State.
Despite challenges arising from shifts in federal government policy regarding immigration, CRIC remains committed to helping refugees and recent immigrants to the valley.
