NORTH LOGAN – The Cache Valley Veterans Association is holding an appreciation lunch for all veterans and their families on Friday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. until all the hotdogs are gone to honor vets for Veterans Day. The hotdog lunch will be held at the Dan Gyllenskog Veterans Resource Center located at 1760 N. 200 E. North Logan just east of the North Walmart.

“We are going to have a hotdog bar with chips and drinks for veterans and their families,” said Rick Filmer, a volunteer for the organization. “We will have some live music and we hope some of our veterans and their families will just come and hangout.”

There will be tables and chairs set out and there is an opportunity to talk, hangout relax and visit.

We would like to get those veterans that aren’t familiar with what we do to come in and see what we have to offer,” he said. “We will not do any intake files, but we can give the brochures and make appointments if they want to.”

The group has several businesses that are donating to the Veteran’ lunch. Macey’s is providing the hotdog buns and Schreiber’s is providing cheese and the Veterans of Foreign Wars is providing the condiments like pickles and chili and other condiments.

“We have a veteran who want to cook the hotdogs,” he said. “Our goal is to get veterans in here and so they can see what we have to offer.”

The lunch is being held for veteran servicemen and their families in the Cache, Rich, Box Elder and Southeast Idaho counties.
