CACHE COUNTY – Local officials here have announced a vacancy to be filled on the Board of Trustees of Cache Mosquito Abatement District.

“Persons interested in filling this vacancy must live in the unincorporated areas of Cache County and be registered voters,” according to County Executive David Zook.

Zook explained that he will recommend the appointment to members of the Cache County Council for their advice and consent at the panel’s regular meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11.

The Cache Mosquito Abatement District (CMAD) is a public agency that controls mosquitoes in Cache County to reduce the risk of disease and other nuisances. 

CMAD is governed by a board of trustees, each of whom serve for a period of four years.

The CMAD covers all unincorporated areas of Cache County except College-Young Ward and all of the valley’s municipalities except Logan, River Heights and Paradise.

Persons who wish to be considered for appointment to the CMAD should contact Zook on or before 5 p.m. on Monday, March 10.
