CACHE COUNTY – Local residents are being invited to a town hall meeting hosted by Cache County Council candidate Ladd Kennington.

That event, one of the first of the 2022 political calendar, is slated for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 23 at Ridgeline High School.

A resident of Providence, Kennington is one of three candidates vying to replace retiring Cache County Council member Gordon A. Zilles.

Kennington’s rivals are Kathryn A. Beus and Shaun Dustin, both of Nibley.

Kennington describes himself as “a principled conservative.”

A native of Wyoming, Kennington is a graduate of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. He is employed as a safety manager at LW Miller Transportation in Logan and has previous experience in logistics and insurance management.

Kennington’s prior political experience includes participation in successful campaigns to elect U.S. Senator Mitt Romney and Utah Rep. Casey Snider.

He has also been a central committee member of both the state Republican Party and the Cache County GOP during the past six years.

Kennington also previously campaigned in 2021 to replace outgoing Cache County Executive Craig Buttars, but was defeated by David N. Zook in a GOP Special Election.

The field of candidates competing for the Southwest seat on the Cache County Council will be trimmed to two in Republican primary balloting on June 28.

Ridgeline High School is located at 180 North, 300 West in Millville.
