Charles Richard Dunn passed away on June 20th 2023 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Logan UT on April 4th 1939 to Charles O. and Greta H. Dunn. Richard married Deon Larsen on November 20th 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their family consists of six children Richelle Wilkinson of South Jordan Utah, Kimberly Dunn of West Jordan Utah, Derek Dunn (Haydee) of Carmel Indiana, Natausha Calveri (John) of West Jordan UT, Ryan Dunn (Jenelle) of Pleasant View Utah, Marc Dunn (Elizabeth) of Overland Park Kansas. They also raised 7 foster children. They have twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Richard graduated from BYU, where he was awarded scholarships in football and baseball, and from University of Utah Medical School. He did a medical internship, residency, and fellowship at the University of California at San Diego, and the University of Minnesota. He practiced medicine in Oakland, California and Richland, Washington as an angiographer, and as a radiologist and ER physician in Logan and Brigham City, Utah. He loved Arabian horses and raised many. He also loved skiing, scuba diving, and beautiful music. His pride and joy were his wife, his children, and his many grandchildren.

Richard was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served a mission in Germany, and he and his wife served a mission as medical advisors for the 14 middle Atlantic States Missions. He taught Gospel Doctrine many times. He served on 3 high Councils and several Bishoprics and as a Bishop.

Richard is the 3rd of 8 children.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald.

Surviving him are his sisters LaRae Carter (Ron) of St. George Utah, Barbara Williams (Preston) of South Jordan Utah, Ann Loveland (Gary) of Boise Idaho, Kathryn Colvin (David) of New Zealand, brothers Mike Dunn (Barbara) of South Jordan Utah, and Gregory Dunn (Leigh) of Fairview Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27th at 1:00 pm at 1401 Country Hills Drive in Ogden, Utah.

A viewing for friends and family will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the day of the funeral services.
