LOGAN — Something that is very constituent-driven happens once a week in Cache Valley – it is the Weekly Legislative Town Hall hosted by the Cache County Republican Party. This is for the general public, regardless of party affiliation.
On KVNU’s For the People program on Tuesday, Cache GOP party chair Shellie Giddings said it’s scheduled for Wednesday night this week.
“One of the things about doing it online now is that we can be a little bit flexible. The legislators really like doing it online because they can do it from their offices at the Capitol or their hotel rooms. They don’t have to get up at 7a.m. on a Saturday morning. And more people are getting involved, and more people are watching online,” Giddings said.
She said it’s more individuals than appeared in person on early Saturday mornings, that seemed to have the same few people each time.
You can actually submit questions in advance for these weekly events on the Cache G.O.P. Facebook page.
“And I do have to say, this session we’re not doing it live. Last year there were so many technical difficulties and they would start late or somebody wouldn’t be able to get on to (it). So, in talking with the legislators we’ve decided we’re just going to hold it, record it, and then I upload it to Youtube and the Facebook page as soon as it’s over”
So, it will be available on the Cache G.O.P. Youtube or Facebook page later on Wednesday night.
