CCSD named Todd McKee, PhD. as the new Superintendent effective July 1st.
NORTH LOGAN — The Cache County School District Board of Education announced Todd McKee, PhD. as the district’s new superintendent to succeed Superintendent Steve Norton effective July 1st.
McKee taught for five years in a suburban public high school in Oregan where he implemented and coordinated the International Baccalaureate Diploma as a district magnet program.
He later joined the Beaverton School District in Beaverton, Oregon in 2006 as the principal of Sunset School which during his time as principal, the school achieved an outstanding rating from the state Office of Education.
McKee completed his doctoral work at the University of Oregon, focusing on the early identification of students at risk of dropping out of high school in 2009 which allowed him to present and teach future administrators in a number of university programs.
He moved to Provo, Utah in 2011 to serve as principal of Timpview High School in the Provo City School District for five years. In 2015, THS was selected as the best high school in the state by US News & World Report.
In 2016, McKee was appointed as the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education in PCSD.
In the last 10 years, McKee has focused on developing multi-tiered systems of support including Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports and using formative assessment to support student learning in high school settings.
According to CCSD Board of Education President Teri Rhodes, McKee was selected out of 12 candidates whose applications were reviewed by a committee of about 20 community members.
The board selected the top six candidates to interview. After the initial interview, three candidates were selected for a second interview after which the board concluded McKee to be the best match.
