The extended closure is needed to facilitate construction of a new Hyrum Dam spillway by the Bureau of Reclamation.

It’s the nation’s largest wholesale water supplier and the second-largest producer of hydroelectric power. The Bureau manages and operates a vast network of dams, reservoirs and other water infrastructure, providing water for irrigation, municipal use, industry and recreation.

Officials say that questions about the impact of the closure of 1800 West at Hyrum Dam should be directed to the Cache County Public Works Department at 435-755-1560.
