Firefighters are responding to a hazardous materials situation at Utah State University on Thursday evening.

LOGAN — Firefighters are responding to a hazardous materials situation at Utah State University on Thursday evening.
Students evacuated Mountain View Tower dormitory Thursday evening while firefighters investigated and hazmat crews taped off the building after 8:30 p.m.
By 9:15 p.m. a text message notification was sent to students from USU Housing stating there was a chemical spill in Mountain View Tower.
Students were loaded on a bus and transported to another location.
The seven-floor dormitory building is located in Central Campus at USU. Police put caution tape around the perimeter of the building.
Utah State University did not respond to a request for comment as of 11 p.m. Thursday evening.
