TREMONTON –– Box Elder County is celebrating 100 years of their Box Elder Fair and Rodeo with a Friday, May 9 kickoff event. This is their first of many events leading-up to this year’s fair to be held August 16–23, 2025, at the fairgrounds in Tremonton.
Friday’s activities include a branding demonstration (wood branding only) where families can burn their own brand into a commemorative board for the fair’s permanent Brand Wall.
Lynnette Crockett, a marketing tech for Box Elder County, said this Branding Party & Kick-Off Dance is the beginning of a summer-long celebration of tradition, community, and the enduring legacy of the county’s beloved fair and rodeo.
“Anyone in the community can attend this first event,” Crockett said. “All of the events will be by the bandstand at the fairgrounds and even if a family doesn’t have a brand, we want them to come out and be a part of the celebration.”
Rough Stock, a Malad-based band, will be performing. They are a local favorite and will be playing live music. The band is a high energy modern country band that plays originals, today’s covers, a few classics as well as some 70’s rock. They are known for getting people out on the dance floor to do the Two Step, she said.
Box Elder County Farm Bureau will sponsor a BBQ dinner and there will be free Peach City Ice Cream as part of the celebration.
“Later in the summer we have combined forces with the Old Barn Theater,” Crockett said. “They will be doing a melodrama to tie into the fair and rodeo.”
The melodrama is scheduled to be at the Old Barn from August 7, 8 and 9. Watch the old barn website to reserve seats.

Several more events have been planned throughout the summer leading to the Box Elder County Fair & Golden Spike Rodeo.
