December 7, 1928 – January 19, 2024 (age 95)

Barbara Gene Follett Berger, 95, passed away at home on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Barbara was born December 7, 1928, on 8th East in North Logan to Orion and Edna Follett. She grew up with three younger sisters, Joan, Sue, and Juanita. Her brother, Orion LeGrand, died in infancy. Barbara loved North Logan and lived there most of her life.

In high school, Barbara met Dewain Berger and became his sweetheart. They married in 1948 and had two sons, Gary and Randy, and a daughter, Jan. After her father passed away in a construction accident, Barbara also helped raise her two youngest sisters.

Dewain and Barbara enjoyed many years of hard work owning and operating a dairy farm in North Logan. They were active in their church, and Barbara held many positions she loved, especially in the primary and Scouting programs. Later in life, Barbara was active with dear friends in Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Red Hat Society.

When Dewain died in 1995, Barbara turned her love to her family. She took trips to visit kids and grandkids and always remembered birthdays and anniversaries. Several of her grandchildren lived with her while attending USU. Barbara’s home is her family’s gathering place, and her greatest legacy is their deep love and respect for her.

Barbara was blessed with three children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Intermountain Hospice nurses who provided Barbara with excellent care.

At Barbara’s request, her immediate family conducted a graveside service at the Logan Cemetery.
