BRIGHAM CITY — Artwork created decades ago by students at the former Intermountain Indian School is returning to the site where it was originally made.
Utah State University Brigham City will open its “Coming Home to Remember the Past” exhibit Sept. 11.
The exhibit includes six pieces, including restored murals, photographs and individual student artwork. Some of the murals were painted directly onto walls at the school and later salvaged as buildings were demolished.
The restored works were displayed at Utah State University’s Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art in Logan from January 2025 through January 2026.
The Brigham City event begins with a lecture at 5:30 p.m., followed by a ribbon cutting at 6:30. Tours and activities begin at 7, with a campfire and storytelling scheduled for 8 p.m.
The event is open to the public, with a special invitation extended to former Intermountain Indian School students and their families.
