LOGAN — A 66-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital Saturday morning after being thrown from a horse and sustaining a head injury on a trail in Logan Canyon.
Cache County Search and Rescue crews responded around 11:25 a.m. to reports of the riding accident approximately 1.5 miles from the Temple Fork Mill trailhead.
Initial reports to 911 dispatch operators indicated that the victim was struggling to breathe following the fall. His condition stabilized on scene, and officials later reported he was awake and conscious.
Due to the remote location of the trail, a medical helicopter was dispatched to transport the man to a nearby hospital for further treatment. His identity and current medical status were not immediately released.
