LOGAN – City officials here have announced the closure of one of Logan’s six off-leash dog-friendly parks.
Due to a reconstruction project due to begin at the Logan Service Center, the dog park there will be permanently closed to members of the public and their canines.
The now off-limits for dogs area adjacent to the Logan Service Center is located at 810 West, 600 North.
City officials recommend that residents needing to give their canine pets an opportunity to run and frolic take advantage of the Logan’s other five off-leash dog-friendly parks.
Those parks are located at Jens Johansen Park (850 East, 100 North), the Jones Neighbor Park (400 West, 625 North), Kilowatt Park (331 South, 300 West), Pioneer Parkway (165 East Poplar Ave.) and Ray Hugie Hydro Park (North side of US 89 at Canyon Road).
When using off-leash dog-friendly parks, pet owners are reminded that dogs must be under voice control at all times when off-leash; animals should not be left unattended or become a nuisance; dogs should not harass other park users or surrounding private property owners; animals must have a current license and rabies vaccination; and that dog waste must be properly bagged and disposed in trash can provided by the city.
Dogs are prohibited in all other city parks and must be on-leash when using a city trail, unless otherwise posted.
