LOGAN — The winners of the 2025 Utah High School Clean Air Marketing Contest were announced on Feb. 8 at Utah State University’s Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEHMA) during Community Art Day, marking the contest’s 10th anniversary.
More than 1,150 high school students from across Utah and southern Idaho submitted public service announcements (PSAs) focused on air quality awareness. Sixty-one finalists, selected by their respective schools, had their work displayed at NEHMA, where a panel of 35 judges chose 20 winners.
Students from Ridgeline, Logan, Preston, Westside and other Utah high schools were recognized for their creative and impactful messages encouraging clean air habits, such as carpooling, limiting idling, and reducing unnecessary driving. Among the top winners was Yoselyn Zavala of Granger High School, whose PSA earned the $300 Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation Award. Her entry also secured Granger High a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station, donated by Leaders for Clean Air.

“The entries seem to get better and more provocative every year,” Stafford said. “Creative competitions are important vehicles for educating youth as they spark the fun of learning and self-discovery that you just can’t replicate in the classroom.”
To celebrate the contest’s milestone, NEHMA is also showcasing a retrospective exhibit of 27 past winning PSAs, which will be on display through the end of February.
