HYDE PARK — The Cache Valley Cruise-In was just held in early July, but we’re not done with car shows.
It’s a car show and so much more this weekend during Hometown Days – Friday and Saturday in Hyde Park.
On KVNU’s For the People program last week, organizer Landon Wiley talked about this year’s celebration.
“We’ve got cars showing up before 4 o’clock and going all the way until 8 o’clock. So, it’s just a great environment for families to come down and walk around. We get a lot of people that say ‘I’ve never really been to a car show before, this is really easy to just come and walk around for a few minutes,” said Wiley.
He talked about the history of this particular car show.
“I started the Lee’s (Marketplace) car show back in, like, 2008, and did that car show for well over a decade, I think we did that 3 times. Hyde Park City came to me and said, ‘Hey, we’d love to have a Hyde Park City car show to go along with our city celebration, and it just went off really well.”
Other events include a Kid’s Cardboard Car Show with awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places, a Fun Run, Pie Eating Contest, Bike Race, and Old Timers Social, a Dance then Fireworks after the dance Saturday night.
