LOGAN — A woman was transported to the hospital for evaluation after driving into the side of an apartment building Monday afternoon, Jan. 29. The crash occurred northeast of Logan High School at 4:20 p.m.
The woman was eastbound on 100 South and stopped at the intersection of 100 West. When the light turned green, witnesses saw her drive straight forward across the street, up onto the curb and hit the side of the Mill Creek apartment building.
The car was travelling less than 10 mph when it hit the building. No other vehicles were involved.
Witnesses ran up to the car and attempted to make contact with the driver, the sole occupant. She didn’t appear to have any injuries but was shaking her head and waving her arms around.
As emergency responders arrived on the scene, the woman opened the vehicle door and was pulled out by officers. She admitted to being under the influence, saying she was the “biggest drug dealer in the valley,” and surprised that she hadn’t been caught yet.
The woman was treated by paramedics on scene and transported to Logan Regional Hospital for treatment.
No other vehicles were involved and there were no other inquires reported. The building sustained minimal damage to the facade.
The crash remains under investigation by the Logan City Police Department.
