LOGAN – The Logan Planning Commission recently approved the plans for a new fast food restaurant coming to the south side of Logan. California-based Jack in the Box will be coming to 1200 South Highway 89/91 in the near future.
The 2,341 square foot restaurant will occupy .8 acres on a 2.76-acre parcel across from the Logan River by Guild Mortgage, an area that will eventually include other fast food and/or retail pads. The restaurant will have room to seat 46 occupants inside.
The menu for Jack in the Box includes everything from hamburgers to all-day breakfast to tacos and teriyaki bowls. Developers say the 22-foot tall building will be open late at night and will feature two drive-thru lanes.
Project planner Sheri Miller, from Magellan Architects and Highway 89 Plaza, LLC, told the commission that they are proposing to extend canopies above the drive thru windows along the west side of the building, and possibly even onto the north side.
The restaurant will be the 4th of its kind in Utah. The other three locations are all located in Southern Utah. There are approximately 2,200 locations throughout the United States, mainly along the West Coast. The first Jack in the Box opened in 1951 in San Diego, where the franchise is still based today.
It is not known at this time when construction will begin on the Logan location.
