LOGAN — A two-vehicle collision in south Logan sent five people to the hospital, including three juveniles, and temporarily closed all lanes of U.S. Route 89/91 on Saturday afternoon.
Officers from the Logan Police Department were dispatched to the crash at U.S. 89/91 and 1000 West at 3:34 p.m.
Initial reports indicate a 65-year-old woman driving an SUV ran a red light and struck a sedan traveling eastbound through the intersection.
According to the Logan City Fire Department, paramedics transported both drivers—the 65-year-old woman and the 34-year-old woman driving the sedan—along with three juvenile passengers from the sedan, to a local hospital. They are being treated for varying levels of injuries, though police do not currently believe any are life-threatening.
The crash forced the closure of all lanes of travel for nearly an hour. The roadway was cleared and traffic resumed normal flow at approximately 4:20 p.m.
The Logan Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, with assistance from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. No further information was immediately available.
