BOX ELDER COUNTY — A 25-year-old Kaysville man died in a paragliding crash near Willard.
Box Elder County Chief Deputy Sheriff Cade Palmer said that approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an overdue paraglider in the Willard area.
Search and rescue operations were initiated, and a Department of Public Safety helicopter was sent to assist.
Palmer said the helicopter reportedly identified a debris field and confirmed that the paraglider was involved in a fatal crash near Willard Peak.
The body was recovered and identified as a 25-year-old man from Kaysville.
No further information on the victim was released, pending notification of his family.
Palmer explained that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
