LOGAN – The upcoming Utah State University Food Security and Solutions Symposium will host Heidi Kuhn, recipient of the 2023 World Food Prize, which is equivalent to a Nobel Peace Prize in the food security field.

The symposium is Wednesday, April 17, in the Life Sciences Building.

Kuhn founded the nonprofit Roots of Peace in 1997 to restore agriculture in former conflict zones. For more than a decade she as shown millions of people living in war torn regions a way to restore peace and prosperity through agriculture.

Kuhn said her keynote address will challenge USU students, faculty and administrators to find ways to improve food security for everyone. Her talk will begin at 3 p.m. in the auditorium, followed by brief student presentations at 4 p.m., then at 4:45 a student poster session with refreshments and networking in the atrium.

The event is free and open to the public.
