BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho — Law enforcement were called to investigate a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon south of Pocatello. The accident was reported at approximately 3:44 p.m. on Interstate-15 at milepost 62.
Idaho State Police report that a 26-year-old woman from Rexburg, Idaho was travelling northbound on I-15 in a Toyota Corolla. The female driver failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left shoulder and into the median.
Police said the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Rexburg, was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
It is unknown if either occupant was wearing a seat belt.
The roadway was blocked for approximately two and a half hours.
The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
