LOGAN — A 68-year-old woman was injured in a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in west Logan. The accident was reported around 1:10 p.m. near 500 S. 1000 West.

Logan City Police Lt. Barry Parslow said the woman was driving a gray Volkswagon southbound along 1000 West, in the inside lane. As she approached the 600 South traffic light, she rear-ended another southbound vehicle.

Officers report, the impact sent the Volkswagon into the northbound lane, where it struck a truck head-on.

Parslow said the woman was stuck inside the car and had to be extricated by Logan City firefighters.

The woman was transported to Intermountain Logan Regional Hospital with injuries to her hip.

The crash partially blocked traffic along 1000 West for almost an hour as crews attended to the woman and cleared the vehicles.

Parlslow said the occupants in all three vehicles were wearing seatbelts. No other major injuries were reported.
