LOGAN, Utah (Aug. 8, 2025) — Firefighters are battling a new wildfire that ignited in Sardine Canyon, US-89/91, Thursday evening.

According to Utah Fire Info, the Perry Fire is located five miles southwest of Mantua Reservoir on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The fire has burned approximately five acres in timber.

No structures have been reported damaged or threatened. No evacuations have been ordered but for firefighter safety, people are being asked to avoid using the Willard Peak road to Inspiration Point while crews are working to suppress the fire.

Resources on scene include two engines, a squad of five, and a helicopter. A 20-person crew has also been ordered to assist.

The cause of the Perry Fire is under investigation.

Fire officials said the public does not need to continue reporting the fire to emergency dispatch..
