March 22, 1973 ~ March 28, 2024 (age 51)
On March 28, 2024, heaven got another angel. It is my understanding that obituaries of a person’s life are generally supposed to have all the great things in them about the person and what they did here on earth, but I can’t find the words to say just how wonderful Wendy was in so many ways. Those who knew her and truly loved her, already know, and need no explanation or examples. Those who were fortunate enough to be loved by Wendy definitely know for they were the recipients of her greatness. She was a pillar of gentle strength and loving understanding.
Wendy Sue Kapp was welcomed into this world by her parents, Marcie Allen Andrews and Kenneth J Kapp on March 22, 1973. She grew up in Brigham City. She attended Box Elder High School and graduated from Charter Canyon High School in Provo, UT with an A average. Wendy married and had four children, Trenton Rhodes, Britania Elizabeth, Colter Jacob, and Jesyka Dawn Forrest who were her sun and moon. She lived in Woods Cross, UT, and surrounding areas for a few years when life circumstances took her and her family to Oregon. She later divorced and moved back to Brigham City, UT where she spent most of the remainder of her life.
Wendy excelled at swimming, outdoor sports, art, and creativity, but her greatest talent was loving and acceptance, without judgement. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Brigham. Wendy’s life was full of some really great choices and some equally dangerous choices. Each led her into many, many, many venues of her life. Each, in their own realm, brought her some of her greatest joys and deepest regrets.
She took all the traumas, and inequities life gave her (and there were many) and still retained her smile, infectious laugh, and big heart. I would be so upset with things, and she would simply say, “Mom, its ok, someday we will all know the truth of the situations in our lives, and it will all be set right. Until then we just need to love and try to understand.” Such words of wisdom from this gentle soul. Wendy is the most giving, forgiving, loving and gentle person you could have ever known. That’s who she was and still is.
Wendy is survived by her children, Trenton (UT), Britania and Colter (Oregon), her parents Marcie Allen Andrews (Brigham UT) and Kenneth J Kapp (Becky) (Bountiful, UT). Grandchildren, Candy, Harlyn, Kailani, Greyson, and Henry. Wendy had many ‘adopted’ grandchildren, especially Harlyn’s brother Logan, siblings, Heidi Clark (Jerry), Kami Bost (Dallas) and Jacob Kapp (Kendra), and others throughout Brigham too numerous to list here. She is also survived by her namesake, Grandma Sue Kapp, many cousins, Aunts and Uncles. Wendy would want me to definitely include her dog, Lucky, in those surviving her as he is her most ardent supporter and comforter. He still sits at the window watching for her return.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jesyka Dawn Forrest, and her step-father Joseph R. Andrews.
I believe, on some level, we will all be like Lucky, I know I will be, watching at the window for the eventual reuniting with Wendy. Until then she will live in our hearts and memories.
