LOGAN — A 35-year-old Wellsville woman has confessed to sexting with teenagers, seeking pornographic material from them. Megan Jae Hugie was arrested last year following an investigation by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court records, Hugie appeared Feb. 5 in Logan’s 1st District Court. She accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. As part of the agreement, three remaining charges were dismissed.
According to prosecutors, Hugie posed as a teenage girl online. She would chat with teens, and request pornographic photos or videos of themselves.
Hugie is currently not in jail. She is scheduled to be sentenced Mar. 19, and could face up to 15 years in prison.
