LOGAN — Two men from Weber County are facing multiple charges after police say they severely beat a teenager and an adult outside a North Logan gas station.

Jayden Douglas Green, 20, of Hooper, and Caleb Michael Jensen, 19, of Ogden, were arrested Tuesday by the North Park Police Department and booked into the Cache County Jail.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, police were called to an assault March 1 at the gas station located at the North Logan Walmart. Video footage showed Green arriving in a gray four-door car and exiting with Jensen and other individuals.

Investigators stated video showed Green running up to a 16-year-old boy who was on his hands and knees, and delivering a running kick to his head. Green then turned around and kicked the teenager in the head a second time.

Furthermore, Green allegedly punched an adult victim several times, and when the adult fell to the ground, Green proceeded to kick them in the head and torso.

Charging documents stated, Jensen and the other individuals simultaneously participated in the attack.

Police report both victims were treated at a local hospital for injuries ranging from head trauma and facial contusions to rib fractures. One victim still showed visible swelling on his forehead several days later as they awaited CT scan results.

While Green initially denied involvement, investigators identified him using video footage from different sources.

The two suspects made initial appearances Wednesday in Logan’s 1st District Court, appearing by web conference from jail. Green was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse, a first-degree felony; aggravated assault and rioting, both third-degree felonies. Jensen was also charged with rioting, a third-degree felony; along with child abuse and assault, both class A misdemeanors.

Judge Brian Cannell set bail for both men and ordered them to appear again in court April 8. He also prohibited the suspects from having any contact with the alleged victims.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
