LOGAN — Law enforcement is asking for the public’s help locating a fugitive from the Cache County Jail. Tayson Alexander Marroquin is wanted for escaping from the jail’s work release program.

According to an alert from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, Marroquin was last seen leaving the jail Monday morning at 8 a.m. The 21-year-old Logan man never returned Monday night.

Marroquin is Hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes. He is reportedly 5’09” tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

Deputies report Marroquin’s last known residence is near 322 East 900 North in Logan. He may be driving a 2003 blue Ford Mustang with Utah license plate: 7W3PN.

Court records show, Marroquin has multiple drug convictions. Last month he was sentenced to serve four months in jail, after pleading guilty to distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, both third-degree felonies. On Tuesday, a judge issued a warrant for Marroquin’s arrest.

Deputies are asking anyone with information on Marroquin’s whereabouts, to contact the Cache County Sheriff’s Office at (435) 755-1224 or call 911.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
