December 27, 1949 ~ December 19, 2023 (age 73)

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Violet Dael Poulsen who left us on December 19, 2023, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born in Camp Cook Lompoc, CA, on December 27, 1949, Dael’s life journey took her from California to Utah, Japan, and the Philippines, before she settled in Thatcher, Utah. Dael graduated from Lompoc High School and dedicated her life to her family, church, and community.

Dael was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an avid crafter, an amazing cook, a domestic goddess, an author of children’s stories, and a beloved member of the Quilt Guild and the Good Sam’s Camping Group. Her skills extended beyond the domestic sphere, as she volunteered at the Food Pantry, mastered Tole Painting, Cake Decorating, and Calligraphy, served as a Lunch Lady, School Librarian, and Florist. Dael’s work at the Maverick Bakery brought joy to many, as did her service in various roles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including Relief Society, Young Woman’s, Church Librarian, Primary Teacher, Family History and Missionary for Peterson Park.

Dael’s greatest joy and achievement was her family. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Neil Poulsen, on December 16, 1967, in the Los Angeles California Temple. Their love story spanned 56 beautiful years, culminating in a large, loving family of six children, fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Dael is survived by her husband Neil, and their children: Kelly Ann Poulsen (Lee Stark), Brian Dale Poulsen, Stephanie Joycle Mason (Scott), Kristen Michelle Poulsen-Jensen, Tiffany Marie Anderson (Cody), and Erin Dale Poulsen; her siblings: Lynne Stanley (Carl), Penie Porter (Dan) and David Hansen (Margaret).

Those who preceded her in death are her parents: Kenneth Hansen, and Nydia Reynolds Hansen; sisters: Diane Hoffman and Marleen Smith; grandson, Justin Davide Esplin Poulsen and son-in-law, Kenneth Nolan Jensen.

Dael’s life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We invite you to share your memories of Dael and upload photos to her memorial page, as we collectively celebrate and remember her remarkable life.
