LOGAN – In the next few months, a recently-appointed Presidential Search Committee will host public forums to obtain input from the Utah State University Community and the general public to recommend three to five finalists to become USU’s next leader.
A national search firm will assist in the process.
The Utah Board of Higher Education has named a 19-member committee to conduct a national search. Co-chairs are board member Richard Wheeler and USU Board of Trustees Chair Kent Alder.
“I’m excited we have a diverse committee,” said Alder, “including many perspectives, to identify a leader who will guide USU into its next phase of excellence.”
The committee’s duties will include approving a position announcement, calling for nominations and applications, screening applicants, and recommending finalists to the Board of Education.
Committee members include representatives from the state board of education, the USU Board of Trustees, the USU administration and faculty, and others representing the community, the USU student body and USU alums.
It is anticipated a new president, to replace the retiring Noelle Cockett, will be selected by the summer of 2023.
