LOGAN — Police at Utah State University have arrested a man accused of exposing himself to female students Friday. Lawrence Leo Roberts was booked into the Cache County Jail, hours after USU officials sent out a campus alert, asking students, faculty and staff to be on the lookout for a man matching the suspect’s description.
According to alert, two separate women reported a man exposing himself to them in the parking lots of Richards Hall and Canyon Crest. Both dorms are located just south of the Logan City Cemetery.
The alleged victims described the suspect as a 20-30-year-old white male, with a nose piercing, wearing a gray hoodie. He was driving a tan four door sedan.
According to jail records, Roberts was booked on three separate offences of lewdness, a class B misdemeanor. He is currently being held without bail.
USU police report the suspect is not a student at Utah State.
Court records show, Roberts had an outstanding warrant issued for his arrest, involving a case where he allegedly violated the conditions of a protective order. That case was filed in 4th District Court in January 2020, while he was living in Orem.
Roberts will remain incarcerated while Cache County prosecutors review USU police officer’s investigation. He will likely be arraigned in 1st District Court on new charges next week.
Police once again reminded the campus community, if you see something, say something. They are asking anyone to contact them, if they have any additional information related to this case.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
