LOGAN – A benefit concert that had been scheduled to take place at the Utah Theatre on May 2 has been cancelled.
That event – which was planned as a joint effort by the members of Cache Valley Interfaith Choir and the Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre – will be rescheduled for a later date, according to Kendal Bates, the UFOMT’s publicity director.
The now postponed concert was to be entitled “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” featuring the talents of the Cache Valley Interfaith Choir and local soloists Vanessa Ballam, Stefan Espinosa and Laura Seipert.
Despite that name – which naturally recalls the 1954 musical film of the same name starring an ensemble cast including Ethel Merman, Donald O’Connor, Marilyn Monroe and Mitzi Gaynor, among others – the benefit concert would have featured performances of both new and old Broadway hits.
All tickets sales for “There’s No Business Like Show Business” would have benefited the UFOMT.
