TREMONTON – Some residents are unhappy with the city government in Tremonton and trying to use the electoral process to make changes starting immediately. Community members have organized a Meet and Greet for Candidates running for Tremonton City Council.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tremonton Senior Citizen Center located at 510 West 1000 N. in Tremonton.
Jason Williams of KVNU’s For the People program will be the moderator for the event.
The primary election will be held on Sept 5, 2023, and the general election will be held on November 21, 2023.
The candidates for this year’s municipal election are Sara Mohrman, R.J. Henry, Jeffery N. Hoedt, Blair Westergard, Paul Fowler, Connie W. Archibald, and Lyle C. Vance.
Kristy Bowcut organized the meet the candidate’s meeting. There are two of three incumbents running for reelection, Connie Archibald and Lyle Vance, who will not be attending the candidate meeting.
Current city councilman Rick Seamons is not running for reelection.
Bowcutt said there is a group of citizens who are upset with the direction the city is going. They are concerned about the city raising taxes, transparency, listening to their constituents and the way they are handling growth, among other issues.
