LOGAN — At No. 6 on the Cache Valley Media Group Top 25 Aggies of 2023 is safety Anthony Switzer. The junior is primed to play a key role for Utah State on defense this year.
Switzer began his collegiate career at Arkansas State and played 24 games (15 starts) across three seasons. He tallied 91 tackles, 4.0 TFLs, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception. In the offseason of 2022, Switzer followed his head coach, Blake Anderson, to Utah State but a season-ending injury during spring ball has delayed Switzer’s on-field debut for the Aggies.
With Utah State, Switzer is expected to play a key role as one of the more versatile players. He’ll spend time playing in coverage along with playing a hybrid linebacker/safety position in Joe Cauthen’s 4-2-5 defense.
