LOGAN — The next Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce Leadership Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, January 16th at the Riverwoods Conference Center, and will feature Cache County Executive David Zook.

On KVNU’s For the People program last week, Chamber President and CEO Jamie Andrus says it’s important to know what’s going on with city and county government.

“Obviously, or maybe it’s not so obvious, but it is connected to the way we do business, what the state of our economy is. And one thing about Executive Zook is that he is very in tune with the business community, very interested in chambers, has been very supportive of the chamber,”  Andrus explained.

She said Zook was the chair of the chamber board of directors when she was hired in her role as president and CEO.

Andrus said local and statewide problems, such as housing and child care access are all related to business.

“That is another angle that we really work hard to help our businesses, in that their employees are also chamber members, we need to think about helping them with work force(and)housing.  You can’t build a business and have it grow if you don’t have enough employees, if you don’t have places for employees to live, places and services for your employees in the community. So, it is very interconnected.”
