(LOS ANGELES) — Sunday night, the kids take over the ballroom, with the series premier of Dancing With the Stars: Juniors.
The new show will feature 12 celebrity kids and professional junior ballroom dancers, including Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, Dance Moms‘ Mackenzie Ziegler and black-ish actor Miles Brown, who tells ABC Radio they never allowed themselves to get too caught up in the competition.
“No, I mean maybe towards the end, but never really. I mean we all feel like a big family and we’re always rooting each other on,” he says.
Miles’ dance partner Rylee Arnold agrees. “All the kids had a really good chemistry, we all made really good friends on this show, so it’s super fun.”
Ziegler says the hardest part of the competition were the eliminations, explaining, “We kind of built up like a great friendships with every single person, and we were like best friends with everyone.”
“I think I cried every single week, adds the 14-year-old singer and dancer.
For Thompson, however, the toughest part was just learning the routines.
“I’m not a really good learner. I’m horrible at learning so it was really tough, she tells ABC.
