The free Family Resource Fair is a two day event held at the Cache County Event Center

LOGAN-A free Family Resource Fair will be held on Friday and Saturday April 21 and 22 at the Cache County Event Center located at the Fairgrounds.  Friday’s events will begin at 4 p.m. and go until 7 p.m. and on Saturday the doors will open at 10 a.m. and go until 7 p.m.

“On Friday evening we have invited community leaders to join a panel discussion on new ideas to improve the lives of our community,” said Scott Falslev one of the organizers of the fair. “One of the panel members will be Aimee Winder Newton, Office of Families Senior Advisor to Gov. Spencer J. Cox.”

The panel discussion will go from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Members of the panel will also include Cache County Executive David Zook, Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen, Utah Representative Casey Snider, KVNU radio host Jason Williams Radio, and retired 1st District Court Judge Thomas Wilmore was invited to be the mediator.

There is limited seating for this particular event.

“They say it takes a village to raise a child,” Falsev said. “We are bringing as many people in the village together for one event to help strengthen families.”

There will also be workshops for youth.

“We have one on internet safety by Cache County Sheriff Sgt. Bird,” he said. “We also have a Newly Wed Game for young married folks, and an Oldy Wed Game.”

There will be some 60 venders for people to visit with during the two-day event and on Saturday there will be some inflatable bounce houses for kids to play on.

Participants include the USU Extension, Utah Parent Center, CAPSA, Up-to-3 Early Intervention, Bear River Health Department, United Way of Cache Valley, Bear River Mental Health, Cache County Fire District, Cache County Sheriff Office, and  Logan City Police Dept.

Also participating is the Cache County School District, Logan City Parks and Recreation Department, Logan Regional Hospital, JustServe, Bear River Head Start, The Family Place Utah, Care About Child Care USU, Healthy Relationships Utah, Common Ground Outdoor Adventures, UServe Utah AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program.

American West Heritage Center, Recovery Cafe, Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation, Children Service Society of Utah – GRANDfamilies, Sorenson Center for Clinical Excellence, English Language Center of Cache Valley, CacheARTS will also participate in the fair.
