LOGAN – The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will hold a meeting here inviting public participation in its proposed plans for future improvements to Main Street in Logan.
“This is one of many studies (on that subject) and it has been a long time coming,” according to Mayor Holly Daines, speaking to members of the Logan Municipal Council at their regular meeting on Feb. 4. “(State officials) have some suggestions for things to improve traffic flow on Main Street.”
The UDOT meeting is slated from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Mount Logan Middle School.
A previous UDOT study focused on U.S. Highway 89 from Brigham City to Logan, Daines explained. The current study will deal with traffic flow from the junction of U.S. Highway 89 and State Route 165 south of Logan – commonly referred to as the “Y” – through the town on U.S. Highway 91 to 2500 North.
An overview of UDOT’s current plans can be found by going online to http://udotinput.utah.gov/us91study
Interested parties can also leave their comments and suggestions about the UDOT plans on that website.
“This is an opportunity for local residents to make their recommendations known,” Daines added, “either in person or online.”
The Mount Logan Middle School is located at 875 North, 200 East in Logan.
