CACHE COUNTY  – In recognition of its commitment to accurate, secure and transparent election administration, the office of Cache County Clerk Bryson Behm has been honored with the “Excellence in Elections” Award by Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson.

“This award is a reflection of the incredible dedication of our staff, our poll workers and the many volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure every eligible vote in Cache County is counted accurately and securely,” according to Behm.

“Our team takes tremendous pride in serving our community and this honor belongs to each and every one of them,” he added.

In addition to the collective award, Chief Deputy Clerk Michelle Stanger was individually honored for her exceptional work as an election official.

In her role as deputy clerk, Behm says that Stanger plays a central role in overseeing election operations, coordinating poll worker training, managing ballot processing and security procedures as well as ensuring compliance with state and federal election law.

“Michelle is the backbone of our election operations,” Behm emphasizes. “Her knowledge, professionalism and steady leadership make a real difference for every voter in Cache County.”

The Cache County Clerk’s Office oversees all federal, state, county and municipal elections

within the county. That responsibility includes voter registration, ballot distribution, in-person voting, ballot verification and the certification of results.

In recent election cycles, the office has focused on strengthening chain-of-custody procedures, expanding voter education efforts, enhancing

accessibility for voters with disabilities and increasing transparency through public observation and post-election audits.

The “Excellence in Elections” award underscores the vital role county clerks and their staff play in safeguarding democracy at the local level. Cache County joins a select group of Utah counties recognized for their leadership in this critical area of public service.
