CACHE COUNTY – State and local officials are inviting local residents to weigh in on future transportation needs of western portion of Cache County.
“Your feedback will help identify transportation challenges, community priorities and inform future transportation planning,” according to a recent Facebook post announcing the Western Cache County Transportation Survey.
That survey can be found by going online to www.udotinput.utah.gov/westerncachecorridor
The Western Cache Corridor Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study is a joint effort by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Cache County and the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization (CMPO).
The goal of this effort is to identify the transportation needs, eliminate unreasonable alternatives and determine the location of a western corridor to inform future transportation and land development decisions, as well as allow for corridor preservation, according to the Facebook post.
A PEL strategy allows planning studies, information and decisions made during the planning phase to be used in subsequent environmental approvals required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
