September 29, 1943 ~ December 22, 2022 (age 79)
Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Shirley (Williams) Braegger, 79, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
She was born on September 29, 1943 in Preston, Idaho, a daughter of LaVon Rolland Williams and Laura Perkins (Mendenhall) Williams.
She married Terry Richard Braegger on January 3, 1963 in Elko, Nevada, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Shirley loved her family, traveling around the world with her beloved husband Terry as he served in the U.S. Navy. During those years, Shirley sometimes had to raise her children and manage her household alone, while Terry served on duty assignments where the family could not join him. But wherever she was and whatever the circumstances, Shirley provided love and service to the family, friends, and community around her.
Shirley was an excellent homemaker and cook, and she also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and reading. She loved spending time with her sister DiAne, and the two of them have enjoyed countless hours working, laughing, and serving together. Shirley was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Terry, her parents LaVon and Laura, and her brother Gene Williams.
She is survived by her four children: Troy (MaryAnne), Mark (Ashley), Steven (Alicia), and Aimee; 9 grandchildren; her sister, DiAne (Paul) Taylor, and her brother, Robert (Joyce) Williams. They will greatly miss Shirley’s kindness, her sense of humor, and her love.
Shirley’s family will greet friends and family on Wednesday, December 28, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and Thursday, December 29, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, Utah. After the Thursday viewing, there will be a short service at Myers Mortuary, followed by interment in the Brigham City Cemetery.
