LOGAN – “Preparedness Starts at Home” is the theme of National Preparedness Month in September, with a focus on taking steps now to get back to the basics of preparedness.

Utah State University Extension’s preparedness website provides information regarding earthquakes, winter weather, drought, floods, and food and water storage and general preparedness information.

Since disasters can strike anywhere and at any time, making preparations now can provide peace of mind later.

Tips to consider include storing a three-month supply of foods that are eaten regularly by your family, making sure at least one family member understands CPR and first aid, knowing how to turn off your home’s utilities and creating a family communication plan and reviewing it with all family members.
