LOGAN – Utah State University data scientist John Lawson, who describes himself as a “weather nerd at heart”, is the featured speaker for the Science Unwrapped public outreach program Friday, Nov. 15, hosted by USU’s College of Science.

Lawson uses Artificial Intelligence to predict weather hazards and his presentation will include a discussion of what AI means.

His presentation “AI is an Astounding Innovation, but Can We Trust it?” will begin at 7 p.m. in the Emert Auditorium, Room 130 in the Eccles Science Learning Center.

After Lawson’s presentation USU student groups and community volunteers will direct hands-on learning activities, followed by refreshments.

There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome.

The next Science Unwrapped is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 in conjunction with USU’s “Year of Undergraduate Research” in 2025.
