MILLVILE – Artists from Mountain Crest and Ridgeline high schools were invited to design and submit logos for the Young Artist Cup competitions to be held April 8 and 9, 2026.

Pheobe Nolan, a Junior at Ridgeline High School, submitted her poster idea for the Young Artist Cup and ended up winning first place. Artists from both schools submitted designs for the competitions.

Brenna Monson, a senior at Ridgeline, took second place in the competition and third place went to Jade Weeks, a Junior at Mountain Crest.

For 28 years The Young Artist Cup Music Competition has supported young musicians attending the two schools. The competition will be held over two nights at Mountain Crest High School. The logos created by all students will be on display in the lobby during the music competition.

“For my poster I was kind of brainstorming, and the picture treble clef reminded me of the number six,” she said. “I wanted to incorporate that into the poster.”

She is very familiar with music because she plays the piano. Her family is also music-oriented with guitars, organs and a piano all on display at her home.

Nolan is consumed with art no matter what the medium is. She said as far back as she remembers she has had a creative spirit.

“I’ve taken all the art classes I can,” Nolan said. “I love drawing and painting. Right now, I’m doing watercolors and I’m starting to work with oils.”

She has worked with ceramics and said someday she would like to make a living selling her art.

“I’m trying to enter more art competitions,” she said. “I want to see where my art will take me.”
