GARDEN CITY — The Rich County Sheriff’s Office is reaffirming its commitment to finding a missing Garden City teenager while pushing back against public rumors suggesting investigators have lost interest in the case.

Kylie Arellano was last seen at her home on May 29, 2025, at approximately 10:52 p.m.

In a public statement Friday afternoon, Sheriff Dale Stacey emphasized that the department is actively pursuing all leads and working closely with local, state and federal agencies to ensure Arellano’s safe return. The agency noted that it must balance these search efforts with its duty to protect the constitutional rights and privacy of those involved in the investigation.

Arellano is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds, with brown eyes and chin-length brown hair. Officials noted she has black dental braces and several tattoos.

Authorities have not released details regarding the circumstances of her disappearance or whether they suspect foul play, but the involvement of federal resources suggests an intensified push to locate her before the end of the year.

In Friday’s statement, the department also directly addressed community concerns and misinformation claiming deputies do not care about the missing juvenile.

“Nothing could be further from the truth,” the sheriff’s office stated. “We deeply value community support, appreciate all the efforts to help locate Kylie, and remain dedicated to bringing her home safely.”
