Residents of a Philadelphia suburb are urged to shelter in place after multiple people were shot in the area, authorities said.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office advised residents of Falls Township, Pennsylvania, to shelter in place amid “an active police investigation.”

There have been “confirmed shootings” in Falls Township, police in Middletown Township, about 60 miles northeast of Falls Township, said while also advising residents there to shelter in place.

“There are several gun shot victims and it is unknown at this time if they are targeted or random,” the Middletown Township Police Department said.

The Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for Saturday morning has been canceled due to police activity, according to Pennsylvania State Sen. Steve Santarsiero.
